Winter willow

This is from a photo I took of a lady who was carrying a black umbrella and walking the other way - she had her back to me. I loved the snow on the willows, the dark building and that golden light contrasting with the blue shadows on the snow, but thought how much better it would all look with a spot of colour. I got my friend Dee Kelly to pose for me in her lounge, holding an umbrella. As she walked towards me on the carpet, she had to pretend she was treading very carefully over ice and snow so that she didn’t slip and fall. I changed the umbrella colour and that, and her image, made the picture.
