This painting was inspired by a calendar photo I saw of people walking by a pool, but I flipped the picture left to right and changed other elements to make it my own. I really like the effect of the white ghost gums and their blue-green leaves – the ones in the foreground look almost turquoise and that is their real colour in the wild. I decided not to have any black in this picture. The darkest colour is the purple in the right of the foreground
